Parting Ways...

This poem is extremely close to my heart. Can't explain why, but I'm just too attached to it. That's why never posted it till today, though it's been quite some time since my writing it. you may not like it, you may not understand it even, or you may find it too ordinary, but it is, and shall remain extremely close to me. I'm posting it today only because someone insisted, and I expect him to give me the reaction now...

PARTING WAYS
A Relationship Turned Sour

When we'd so much to say
There was no time to share...
Love-longing to be expressed
Waited...till it wasn't there.

It isn't there- any more
The twine snapped long ago
Without a whisper the bonds broke
without even letting us know!

The madness of life
Robbed us of itself
We've everything today..
Except-outselves!

Today we've time aplenty
But nothing to tell each other
Today we walk adjacent
But we're not together.

We've never needed to ask questions
There were never any myths to shatter
then-because we knew all answers
Now-because nothing matters!

Somewhere down the way
We lost the meaning of living
The essence of love
The togetherness of being!

The wall's grown taller and stronger
The rifts have become invincible
The emotions have disappeared
The indifference is too visible.

But life has to move on
So from today and thereafter
It's each one his own journey
Alone we move- with our tears and laughter!

Let's leave ourselves to the flow of life
Let's see it takes us where
Just one last thing-
TAKE CARE!!!

and there r no novices or geniuses, to sum it up in orvellesque fashion

All quizzards are equal but some are more equal than others

Phoenix said...

Well, I kinds figured/guessed your name out. Or does it sound more fanciful if I say I 'quizzed' it out?
:)

Let's see if u can figure out how I did that, Mr. Malhotra:)

(Trust me, I don't have spies on you, and I hardly know much beyond your name, that u r a Delhite, and u quiz...not yet!)

If quizzers form a hierarchy, I lie at the lowest level..trying to learn from experience!:)

kunal said...

Seriously...infact I havent even figured out much else about you yet...except for the fact that maybe you are from BVN, and u r definitely much senior to me..

Yeah, I checked out Arnav's blog already!

kunal said...

wats the BVN thing, i did nt study there, and yeah im older to u,
but seriously, this is sweet

Phoenix said...

Fine, one wrong info....

I told u I'm bad at this...

And ya, this is sweet. that's why i dont wanna reveal already how I'm piecing the clues up. It's kinda fun.

But take my word..I DON'T really KNOW YOU!

kunal said...

but i wont mind, and i dont, the games people play.

Ravi Handa said...

will just help out kunal here.... read her blog carefully to find out her department and year. once you have done that go to the IIT D site and find out the name of possible females. then go to orkut and search the profile of the possible females. one of those profiles has a link to this page..... ab achche bachchon ki tarah thank you bol dena.

Ravi Handa said...

and koi jaakar arnav ko uthaao... i m waiting for his reply. us post ko padkar lagta hai ki main mangal pandey ban gaya.

Phoenix said...

Hey that's just not fair..u cant help him out like this, with a handbook...

u need to tell me too now, whatever else there is to him. Be just Ravi!

Phoenix said...

I meant..Be just, Ravi!
and even I'm waiting for Arnav's reply!

Ravi Handa said...

Ravi Handa said...

aur haan... what is the intention behind calling me Ravi? is there some hidden reason behind it?

kunal said...

handa bhai, thx for the peptalk, ur god, and i guess almost famous does deserve to be seen 28.34 times, but this is too much of exercise yaar, even by my standards (if u call it that)

so keep encouraging this dusht paapi, u knw what i mean

Phoenix said...

@Handa

Are u the founder of FIGHT CLUB? I bt u at least love it...And Mr. Kunal fight maar rahe the becauee he was intrgued..u shd have let him enjoy the joys of quizzing rather than helping him out, although he says he's too lazy for that.

And I called u Ravi just like that..'Handa' se mujhe senior wali feel nahi at, esp because I call one of my classmates who's a good frnd by that name. Don't look for sarcasm everywhere! Fight hai kya is se?
Maybe I should call u TGHH (The Great Handa Himself) from now on!

@Kunal

thank you bol hi diya na aapne!huh..just wat he wanted!

@adarsh

Well, u embarass me! good to know u still come here. i see less of u of late.

@dum_de_dum
Well, I feel absolutely honoured and flattered to see your gracious presence on this blog. I surely do not deserve that much praise as you have generously showered on me, but thanx a lot anyway. And certainly, i'm NO worth getting published puh-llease. there have been a few debates here on this in the point is, and the basic point is, nobody would ever read me if I publish, for there's SO much better to be read. Even in the limited ground in blogosphere that I peruse.

And no, I'm not offended with your exchange with Arnav at his blog. That's between you and him, though I have a great respect for you now, and I hope the two greats settle things on amicable terms. But yeah, I'm sufficiently intrigued with you, and admire you so muc that I am hoping to meet you at Rendezvous myself, if you allow.
About the quizzing, well thanx, but it's just some guess work and soem intelligent application her. Otherwise I'm an absolute nobody when it comes to quizzing. Probably at minus infinity fro where you look.
And that BVN bit was a rather random fluke. Almost logicless. so no associations there.
And no apologies needed, only my gratitude to you:)

adarsh said...

thats bcoz u r not writing much of poetry...
still..it doesn't mean i come just for ur peoms ..;)

Ideally, I should leave this post alone because it's already got an obscene number of comments and my inability to understand or even acknowledge the existence of such emotions. But I guess the rhyme scheme is good and I had to comment as a courtesy.

and do u kno anyone who didnt like Fight Club? FC is one of the few movies where I think Ebert lost it callin it "macho porn"

Taru , lately i seem to really connect to your blog. i really like it when you say
The wall's grown taller and stronger
The rifts have become invincible
The emotions have disappeared
The indifference is too visible.
as you couldnt have been more explicit in depicting the situation ,awkward though, that we all face quite often. i adore your habit of picking up heart raking topics and do a job on them that pinches u right there. i also must say that theres a definte poetic talent that resides on this blog but is a little too shy too move out.
now on the poem:
i would say that even when we are aware that we are in a process of losing someone, why is nothing done about it. Can the attempt be unidirectional or there has to be a coherence because i feel i am experiencing the same phase with a certain someone these days.
Anywasy excellent work and keep up tackling these intriguing and painful truths of life

Phoenix said...

@dum-de-dum

Very often, people don't know their own true worth, especially if they dedicate their efforts judging others on singular known aspects of their personality.

What I meant by what I said her, even I don't know fully, but i leave it to your comprehension.
I'm currently slightly pre-occupied with rendezvous and related stuff, but I'll restart my efforts for THE DEDUCTIONS as soon as possible. still, pls don't expect too much.
but hwat's amazing is the fact that acc to u, Arnav has u on his frnd list in orkut and still 'doesnt know you'!

@Shivam
Thanx a lot for dropping by, though to be honest I didn't really expect that. courtesies arent always necessary. i wasnt going to stop reading your blog if u didnt come here. :)
Anyway, thank you.

@TGHH aka Handa
So wat's the conclusion? How do you want me to refer to you?:P

(In case u have become too 'buddha' to remember, we are talking of you choice in my way of addressing you...Ravi, Handa, TGHH, Handa sir, or something else?)
:P

@Ayush

I dont know what really to say to your comment except thanx for the appreciation. You raise a question thats too tough for me to understand. but anyway, hope u get the coherence in life that you need!
:)

Ravi Handa said...

how bout "the evil guy"... tht seems to be my new name in the blogworld.. if u dont kno wht i m refferin to check comments on arnav's blog.

Anonymous said...

well. i did get the sarcasm well enough.(n maybe of your previous comment too).
i agree with u totally in what u say.and i dont think anybody could have put it better in one line than u did.
and i think it applies to everybody.
wont bother u as u seem to be busy.the person i talk about is not arnav but TGHH.

Nikhil said...

You evaded the question that you have been published or not,that DDD asked.

PS: Waise senti poem samajh me nahi aata.Ye waala bhi nahi aya,matlab senti hi hoga.All I could figure out was that it was good.

Phoenix said...

Hi...

I'm surprised to see the kind of interest that's developed on this page, but I'm glad nevertheless.

@dum-de-dum, and others who may have misinterpreted that 'one-liner'

Well, to be extremely frank and honest, I'm still not able to fully comprehend or explain what I meant with that statement..I guess it was one of those things that come out instinctively and naturally to u, without u applying much thought on it. But as an afterthought, it is something that can be applied to EVERYONE here. We tend to jump to conclusions knowing only a very limited aspect of somebody, anybody. That's what's been happening for the past two days actively, and with that I don't just mean the recent belligerence at Arnav's blog. In general, people have expressed admirations/dislikes/irritations about others really leniently while knowing precious little about them. yo a surprising extent, it is true in real life as well. Most times it's fine, OK, acceptable, sometimes it's infuriating because one is definitely misunderstood. I'm not accusing anyone here, or being sarcastic, or offensive, I'm not even being critical for i've no right to do tha. i confess 'm as much a party to this syndrome as anyone else. It's just a honest feeling that I said, and I beg everyone not to take it otherwise. I can do without a world war III here. :D

@dum-de-dum
I'm requesting u again not to take it personally please. Forgive any objectionable, offensive, annoying statement from me on the pretext pf my naivete please.

@TGHH

Well, I don't think you're that evil, even though that might have ben the 'nishkarsh' at a blog far more worthy, sensible and popular than this one.
I'll stick to TGHH :)

@Nikhil

haan senti crap hai...chhodo not worth it :)
And lets keep that poem hush hush :P
