Everyone has fantasies, desires, wants. They're pretty and they're important because they make us go on living. We all have them, and so did she. Loads of them. And one of them was a deep hidden desire to live a day in her life on which she was made to feel really really special. A day when someone took the pains of showering love and joy, pampering and caring over her. When her whims were legal, when all of her demands were at least strived to be met. A day when she was made to feel like the Queen of the world, or at least, the princess of someone's world. That's all she wanted, a day of freedom and happiness, with no constraints, where she was free to be selfish, free to be mean, and free to be herself. One day when people she loved wanted to be around her all the time. One day when she could feel the luckiest thing alive.
That someone never really come to her. He did come, promising to her she was special to him, and that he would make her life special every moment, but then, words are mere words.
Dreams are pretty and important, but they're also ugly and hurtful at times, because most of the times, they dont come true.
That's A's story. I don't know what to say to her any more. Can I ask her to believe in her dreams? Can I? But how...for afterall, words are mere words, and those are all I have.

"most of the times, they dont come true".
It is true that most of the our dreams don't come true, but what about the times they have come true? What if we stop believing in dreams all together? In that case not even a single dream would come true.I know it hurts when the best dream we have ever had doesn't come true;but at the same time the dreams which do come true give us an equal share of happinness, its better to bask in the glory of the dreams that have come true rather than feel sad for those that haven't come true.
A's dream of having people whom she loves around her all d time for one wonderful day,is one of those dreams which can't come true by her efforts alone, its a dream in which not only she,but those who are the part of the dream have to believe. If that happens, one day it might come true.
True, that words are mere words, but hope is hope, that's all we have and shudn't loose.
isnt it every girl's fantasy/dream to have that one day?? some dreams never come true..but we live for those which ultimately do come true!!

God knows...it;s easy to say than to do. If one believes what happens is inevitable, then the successes and failures, joys and disappointments would happen anyway, and whatever has to come true would come trye anyway except for the fact that there woun't be the kick of a dream coming true or the hurt of one breaking.
Most of our dreams are like that, dependent on too many external factors. A is not exception. In fact she's really sweet, and you;d never understand why does she have to be so hurt if you knew her. Hope is a difficult word.

Maybe...not sure...it's different to say something, hear something and totally believe in something. We live for the joys? Dunno again.
"most of the times, they dont come true"
agreed with the statement, but a person doesnt stop dreaming because of this, well this is a dream where you which you cannot convey to the other person with communication, this is something to be understood, observed from actions.
This depends from pewrson to person, maybe "he" is doing his best to prove that she is special to him, and this is a fact, but the expectations vary from person to person, some people are satisfied with one chocolate fudge and for others maybe five are less. No I am not saying that A's expectations are pretty high, but maybe he is also doing his best to meet those expectations.
There is nothing wrong on A's part to expect this, every he / she has this desire hidden somewhere, some people like A communicate this and some just keep it in their dreams.
Again a brilliantly written entry! Loved every word of it!

Its really not whether dreams come true, they remain dreams.. Its about dreaming! If one can dream, then the spirit in the person is alive and kicking to get going in life :)))
Actually I believe that there is nothing like dreams not coming true.. because, dreams still came true atleast in the dream when we dreamt them and theres no one stopping us from dreaming any number of times :))
If dreams came true they wud not be dreams anymore.Happy Diwali!

I really dont know "him" myself, so can;t really comment. But it seems likely that maybe he just hasn't understood what she desires and how important it is to her. silly at one level too, i guess. Yet dreams aren't supposed to be rational. The question just is...should one or should one not "believe" in ones dreams with that much faith? It's neither right not wrong...just a cost benefit analysis
Thanks though:)

The act in itself is amazing without question, but as i just said, are we allowed to really believe in them, for our own good. And without believeing is there a point in them. Or shd we just dream, smile n forget instead of trying to live them?

:d Maybe. Happy diwali to you too

Ab us bechari ko ye to nahi keh rahi main ja kar. waise bhagwan singh ji ka cell numbe rhai apke pas?
words have a person behind them. some dont. you have to know which one are coming your way.
that A is not very different from a certain T in dreaming about that one day, so what does T say to T ? :)
i guess they should better redefine the word 'dream'..those wishes which come true make a part of a million of realities..those which do not are mere broken 'dreams'..

Very complicated comment. and this T and that A have a few fundamental differences. I dont think I can be content with just one day :P It matters to me who is the person making me feel all good, and thirdly i know mine is an impossible dream never to come true and i can live with that fact. to her, it's hard to explain.

that would kill all its romantic and poetid beauty, wouldn;t it? :P
life starts with a day :)
i sense a stickler for details :D
sigh!....if you are dreaming about flying carpets, i can try to explain a bit ;)
"most of the times, they dont come true."
Don't quite agree with this! If you are passionate enough, most of the times they do come true. I read the following line somewhere, and quite agree with it.. "People would be far happier if they could remember how much they wanted something after getting it"
There .. you also have a plausible answer to the "What does one need to be happy?" question!
