Its not that that we don't want to walk the road alone but this rationality is weakened by the desires to find solace in a face, or 2 hands, which can absorb or at least walk through our never ending misery. So don't look back, just accept what you really wanted at first place.

When I am stressed, I would wish that I can talk to someone and whine for a bit. Though there are times, I do wish to be left alone.
