Tonight.

Think of me tonight
As you would, of a long sensual kiss
Of a bear hug so tender
Of a moment of eternal bliss
that's condensed in a droplet in your palm
waiting to wet your soul.
Think of me tonight
As the feeling that makes you whole.
And remember me forever
in the secret drawer of your heart,
as your incomplete poetry,
as your unfinished art.
All yours to cherish and forget,
all yours to preserve and protect.
Think of me tonight
and let the thought be perfect...

Hehe, thanks....haan, perfect thing to write in the middle of the night..more or less impromptu you know, but well, if it makes me lucky and brings along a lover or two, I dont mind ;) ;) Lol!

Thanks for your comments..

Blake!!! Kahaan comparison mara hai...let my amateur impromptu poetry be happy in its oblivion.. :")

[chakoli]
Oh well, what is love without a little passion..in fact, what if life?

Well, it's a good question to wonder on...words often exagerrate, and make reality more perfect n beautiful, or perfect n tragic than it could ever be. Expression blurs the intensity of the expressed, but then, sometimes it is necessary to preserve our notions of the beauty in this world, dont you think!

[akshay]
hmm...strange comment?

Sanjokar rakhi hai maine naazuki kuchh ehsaason ki
-Do chaar lamhe unmein tere saath ke bhi hain.
Tere geeton mein khokar lab sil jaate hain mere, magar
Adhuri ghazalon mein kuchh she'r tere naam ke bhi hain.

ok... lemme rephrase

Once upon a time
I met William Blake
He said, "Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour"
Now here we have Phoenix
She celebrates moments of eternal bliss
I wonder what speck of dust on her palm is infinity equivalent to :D

Just one word for the writing.."beautiful!"...Keep them coming :)

Haan, ironic in a way..more like just for this once, let it be a perfect thought, a perfect moment, and then do whatever u want to do with it...

[vik]
superb, awesome. A 100 times better than this poem...

Kya boloon!
It's restrained like its rhyme, sensual like its imagery, yet somewhat content in its feeling. Somewhat!

"it is necessary to preserve our notions of the beauty in this world"
...oh yeah definitely..maybe more so in today's time

also one thing...why we never express our anger so passionately in words..only love...not see much writings which boil with anger :)

not that i want you to write any..but ;)

[desperado]
I think all-consuming love, or affection is much easier to find than all-consumign anger, and thank God for that! Not to say that passionate intense anger or hatred doesn't exist but thankfully the shelf-live of anger is less than that of love in this world, hence the latter is more sustainable.

Actually, I should try writing one like that..:P
