Here's an issue really close to my heart, something I've repeatedly talked about in previous posts on this blog. We need to vote. All of us. Every single person eligible, must vote. It's much more our national duty than a national right. If we do not vote, we have no right to celebrate or curse our democracy, no right to complain about the "system" and no right to wish things would change for the better. Every single vote counts, and in this respect, the Jaago Re! One Billion votes initiative is something I think each and every one of us must support.
And act on.
India needs ten minutes of your time. Spend five minutes today, register, and help spread the word. And five on the day of the election. Make a responsible choice. Trust me, every drop makes a difference. Do you have ten minutes for your country?
Let's stop making excuses. It is not cumbersome (check the website to bust some common myths about registration and voting) and it is not futile. Please.

GO TATA TEA!!
at least ppl like us, the "internet addicts" could make a better use of this...
Great work. If theres one thing which can be a trigger to solving the plethora of problems we face today, its voting by all of us.

Bravo!

Absolutely must. It's the urban yout, after all, that votes the least.

Yeah, absolutely. It's a small but crucial step. I'm trying to talk to them and organize a campaign within iitd soon.
I registered too, now I guess people will have less excuses and justifications, to why they do not vote. I even like the TV advertisement, quite true. For many of us the voting day is like just another holiday, watch films, laze around do everything except voting.
Its high time we take charge of selecting the right government, its a pity that in the world's largest democracy the average voter turnout is less than 46%
Good initiative!

I wanted to register but sadly my city (Jammu) is not included in the list :(

I liked the TV advertisement too, and just feel so strongly about this that couldnt stay quiet. Am meeting people from Jaago Re tomorrow, trying to put together a campaign in iit delhi. Lets see. Meanwhile, the more ppl we can get to register, the better. Esp the urban youth.

I'm surprised. There is the option of "others" in the city list. I'm sure that will allow you to register...
Oh yes found it ! Thank you :-)
