Why can it be a dangerous idea to thank your life when it makes you happy?

Not because mostly it suddenly realises its mistake, says a quick thank you to you for reminding abut her slip-up, and goes back to normal in a jiffy.
But because sometimes, it even takes a refund back.

Is that a question? I believe its a statement. If it were a question, the answer wud be..
because you may miss thanking life for the happiness when it eventually realises the mistake (if u were so sure about it being a mistake :P)

Life does sometimes take a refund back!

So, I guess we can just pretend to be okay-okhay types even while we are 'HAppy' :)

Have seen it happen, yet it doesn't seem logical or fair!

Disagreed.
"Do wait for for life, do not long for it. Be aware and at every moment, that the miracle is in the here and now".
Live not in the fear of the morrow! live today!

Because of the financial meltdown, life cannot be repaid or given refund right now. However, we are accepting some more of life's tax-dollars for a bailout.

"dosti ka ek usool hai madam, no sorry, no thank you" .. make life your friend and then you don't have to thank it for making you happy .. and you will know that it is for your own good that life makes you uncomfortable at times

and you don't call what you give to your friends refund, do you? Even if you want to get all business-like and think that life wants its refund back, give happiness to (your) life instead of letting (your) life take happiness away from you.

A complex life, too.
More real than imaginary though.

It's just a truth, or a half-truth, in my prism. You can create your own picture, your own rules.

It's not so easy to cheat and fool life. Even if we dont "act" happy, life knows what it gives anyway, when it sits down to audit, n in that case, we'd be theonly fools who didnt even enjoy happiness when we had it, even if briefly.

So does most of reality. I like life a lot simply because it doesn always conform to logic, and most conventional wisdom.

Easier said than done, but a good encouraging thought still

Damn clever, but we are not ready to nationalise any of our assets under Life's control in return for the bailout. We'd accept pure tax-exempt donations.

Achha idea hai, but frndship two way hoti hai, n for life to be my frnd, she needs to trust me too.(n vice versa) and life is such an ever-changing dramatic roller-coaster, that it is always aloof, too full of itself.
