Dear Universe

Is there such a thing as guilt-free, anguish-free, unsecretive, uninhibited happiness?
I think you owe me my fair share.

Sincerely,
Me

yes, there is such a thing .. it is called peace or probably bliss... but you will only feel it in short spurts...when you feel it, you will know it, you can't hang on to it, for it will come in fleeting moments.. and that's what makes it so precious, so rare..and you will get your fair share, just be ready to feel it and acknowledge it when you get it.

Nope. The world is too complex for that.

Doesn't mean that regular happiness isn't great though! ;-)

Come visit me...

Since it says her 'Brickbats welcome', so I proceed, with trepidation.
Universe does not owe any of us anything. People like to believe in fairness, but life, universe inherently, by their very nature, are meant to be unfair. However that does not mean that we all cannot be happy. So what gives?
I read this once, a long ago, a wise man talked about the secret of happiness. He said, "When you say 'I want happiness', remove 'I' it is ego, remove 'want' it is desire, and you are left with happiness"
I have not always heeded the wise man's advice, but there might be some truth in it.

But it's also tough if you get it and then lose it...you start wondering whether you ever had it or not...it's like a dream true but then going wrong...makes you feel betrayed...
Maybe this hope is the best part!
